Mildred Bowles, age 80, of Picayune, passed away the morning of July 12, 2019. She was a hard-working lady who loved God and her family. Millie was exceptional with a crochet hook, and many people all over the world have treasured her creations. She loved to cook and feed family and friends. Giving to others was her love language. She had many talents that she loved to share with others.

Millie accepted Jesus as her personal Savior many years ago and lived to serve Him. She loved the classic hymns and could often be found studying her Bible. She recognized early in life that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." One of her favorite verses was Isaiah 26:3. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee."

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Waugh, and a sister, Berdena Giesseman. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Don; daughter Terri Bowles; son David Bowles; daughter Lori Ola, son-in-law Alan Ola, son Micheal Pugh; granddaughters Elizabeth and Anna; sisters Marjorie McCarthy and Peggy Shanks; brothers John Robert Waugh and James Michael Waugh; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I have know Millie since I was 5 years old, she always treated me like family. She and Don were the first to teach me of Jesus. Their oldest daughter Terri and I are still best friends from childhood. When we would come to Mississippi, she would treat us just like family. She was a wonderful lady. She made the best butterscotch fudge every year. She will never be forgot. She was definitely a child of God. Love you Millie. Love, Scott and Velvet
